My poetry excerpt:
A new day dawned, on October 16th, for the Black Man,
when you rose up to unite with your brothers and take a stand.
You sought oneness with God, atonement to family and community,
self-determination to be the head and implement demands.
The Million-Man March was a tremendous success for you dear brothers,
an ocean of Black Men, peaceful and loving, impressive to see.
What an awesome presence you made on that day, over in Washington,
A ray of hope for our people and a victory.
